Dear Parents,

The Camp Gan Israel 2023 season is open for business!

Camp will run from June 26 to July 28, giving us all 5 weeks of nonstop fun and excitement.

As always, safety is our number one priority, so once again, we will closely be following the guidelines of the CDC, LA County and the State of California with everything that we plan.

We are ready to build upon our experience from our incredibly successful previous summers to bring you a wonderful, COVID-friendly CGI that will be even better than before. We have lots of fun in store, giving the children our much-beloved Jewish camp experience. We look forward to spending another fabulous summer with you!

Additional Health & Safety Updates & Guidelines:

Below are some additional guidelines that we will be following this summer at Camp Gan Israel, please note that this list is not comprehensive and is subject to change as we get closer to camp. Please feel free to reach out to us with any specific questions or concerns with our plan.

  • Camp will be limited in size. Bunks sizes will total with up to 15 campers and 2 counselors per bunk. Each bunk will run as an independent cohort.
  • When possible, siblings of similar ages will be placed together.
  • Campers will be reminded to stay extra careful with handwashing, using sanitizer and other important hygienic guidelines at all times. All campers and counselors will wash their hands between all activities and before and after eating.
  • Campers will be outdoors as much as possible with limited time spent indoors. All indoor areas will be well ventilated at all times.
  • Staff and campers will not need to wear masks while outdoors. Any children whose parents would like them to wear a mask the entire time will be supported in doing so. Parents should communicate to the camp beforehand if that is their desire.
  • All campers should apply sunscreen at home. When reapplying sunscreen in camp, campers will do so unassisted; if they do need extra guidance, please send in spray sunscreen so they can be assisted by a staff member.
  • Camp Gan Israel will have a dedicated cleaner sanitizing our campus throughout the day.
  • Any camper or staff member who has experienced fever, vomiting, cough, diarrhea, loss of taste or smell or other symptoms typical of Covid-19 will be unable to rejoin the program until 72 hours after the symptoms subside, in most cases a negative test result and/or doctor’s note will be required before returning.
  • Any camper or staff member who displays a high temperature (>101) or other symptoms during the camp day will be isolated from the rest of camp and sent home ASAP.

Drop-off/Pick-up Procedures:

Parents are required to check their children’s temperature before arriving at camp each morning and to keep their children at home if they or any household member have a fever or other symptoms. Additionally, all campers’ temperatures will be checked with a contactless thermal thermometer before being signed in each morning. Parents will check-in through the contactless check-in app and fill out a quick daily health screening. Any camper with a fever of 100.4 will be sent home.

All campers will be required to sanitize their hands upon entering the CGI campus.

Daily drop-off and pick-up will be at the campus gate at Sunset & Los Liones.

Payment Policy:

Please note that camp fees are nonrefundable. If you need to cancel camp after you have registered, as long as you let us know by May 31, 2023, we’ll hold your unused camp fees as credit for the next summer. We cannot provide credits or prorate tuition for partial weeks.

In the event that California adds new lockdowns or restrictions, and we have to close or cancel camp at any point, any unused camp fees will be credited to registration for a future season.

All non-refundable payments must be made in full at the beginning of the camp season.
